Hello Ta’an Kwach’an Citizens:

By 19 October 2010 I have been in office as your elected Chief for one year. I cannot believe how fast time has flown by. Your input and concerns are important to me. If you need to contact me, please do not hesitate to do so.

I would like to encourage the families that do not have a Board of Director on the Board to speak to your family to have representation. The BOD are a crucial part of our government, fair decision making is not being done if your family is not represented.

Chief Brenda Sam, October 2010

Deputy-Chief Richard Martin

Hello everyone, it has been 25 months since elected as Deputy Chief and come January 13/2012 TKC will be 10 years young. I have been frequently asked about the procedure on how TKC can switch to voted council.
AMENDMENT OF THIS CONSTITUTION 16.0 AMENDING PROCEDURES 16.1 Subject to section 16.2, this Constitution may be amended at any meeting of the General Assembly provided that: 16.1.1 written notice of the amendment is provided to the Board setting out the proposed amendment at least twenty-four days prior to the meeting of the General Assembly; and 16.1.2 a three-quarter majority vote of at least sixty Citizens at the meeting of the General Assembly, who are at least sixteen years of age, approve the amendment. 16.2 If there is consensus amongst the Citizens, who are at least sixteen years of age, present at the meeting of the General Assembly, approving the proposed amendment, the requirements of section 16.1 may be waived. 16.3 An amendment may be proposed by any Citizen who is at least sixteen years of age. This is TKC’s amendment procedure as defined in our constitution. During a G.A. there needs to be 60 people present to vote, at least 16 years and older, this 60 people includes the gallery and delegates sitting at the table. The call for voted council has been put forward at 2 previous G.A’s and 1 special G.A. if there is to be any changes to TKC constitution, TKC needs to see your involvement and voice at the General Assembly. This includes all and any changes to the constitution. I have written this for the facts and do not wish to offend anyone, Kwanischis
