Injunction seeks to suspend public sale of waterfront lots
The Ta'an Kwäch'än Council filed an affidavit with the Yukon Supreme Court seeking an injunction to suspend the public sale of Whitehorse waterfront lots 23 and 40.
11 July 2008Cuts to Yukon River Chinook subsistence fishery unacceptable
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) has asked Yukon First Nations to cut their 2008 Yukon River Chinook harvest in half, from 8,000 to 4,000 fish. The allocation imposed by DFO on the Whitehorse region, which includes the traditional territories of the Ta'an Kwäch'än Council and the Kwanlin Dün First Nation, would mean a mere 47 salmon to be shared between the two First Nations.

Group of four Yukon First Nations signs Letter of Understanding
The Chiefs of the Ta'an Kwäch'än Council, the Kwanlin Dün First Nation, the Carcross/Tagish First Nation and the Kluane First Nation agree that since they are facing similar interests and circumstances, there are benefits to working together and ensuring that their specific concerns and issues are being addressed and that their agenda has the attention of the federal and territorial governments.

The Ta'an Kwäch'än Council has received funding to clean-up the old Range Road dumpsite located on portions of the Yukon River and lower McIntyre Creek and associated riparian zones.
